The Royal Mail unveils special Charles Dickens stamps

The set of six stamps, issued to mark the bicentenary of Dickens' birth this month, feature iconic characters from his novels including Oliver Twist and The Pickwick papers.

Independent stamp designer Howard Brown designed the stamps using images sourced from the Bridgeman archive. 

Jospeh Clayton Clarke was an illustrator, designer of cigarette cards and postcards in the nineteenth century.  The images are from our Look and Learn collection.
