Bridgeman is giving you a blank canvas with only two central rules:

1. Choose one of the TEN ICONIC PAINTINGS below as your inspiration.

2. Use at least 3 Bridgeman images as part of your final design.*
*You may use elements from your inspiration work, but it cannot count as one of the three required. Additionally, you may use your own proprietary design elements or illustrations in your work.

How to Enter, Rules and Eligibility

  1. Competition is open to designers and design students.
  2. Register or login to your user account on  www.bridgemanart.com. Please make sure to enter COMPETITION in the box for Address Line 3. Once you register, Bridgeman will grant you temporary high-resolution download privileges. (Only images that are already scanned in high-resolution are available for purposes of this competition.)
  3. To access over 160,000 images available to you for the purposes of this competition, simply enter ALLCLEAR in the search box. All images under this search umbrella are free of copyright restrictions.
  4. You can refine your search by entering a keyword with ALLCLEAR, for example: 'ALLCLEAR textile' to narrow down your search results.
  5. Print entry form. Make sure you choose your inspiration work from the list and include image numbers for all Bridgeman images used in your design.
  6. Send completed entry form with CD or DVD of work to Bridgeman Art Library. Address is on the entry form.
  7. Entries must be received no later than December 1, 2009.

Awards

  • Bridgeman will choose an overall winner and 3 honorable mentions.
  • The winning design will be featured in the January 2010 issue of GDUSA Magazine, in print and online and will be seen by an estimated 100,000 people.
  • Winner and honorable mentions will also be featured on the Bridgeman website in January and February 2010.
  • The winning design could be chosen to be part of the permanent Bridgeman online collection, available for third party licensing.
  • Winner will be notified in early January 2010.
