Scandinavian Idyll

The Swedish painter, Carl Larsson, is an ever popular artist for calendar and stationery products, but there are many other Scandinavian painters who may be relatively unheard of in this market.  We are pleased to represent the O. Vaering collection. This archive, one of Norway's oldest, is chock full of artists that capture unique northern light in their landscapes and render quiet scenes of domesticity.

Check out the O. Vaering collection and other Scandinavian artists.

If your product is for kids, collections such as O. Vaering and the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden also offer a wonderful selection of fairy tale scenes and creatures.

It's All in the Details

Iconic images and artists find new life with details such as a close-up of hands, or the artist's brush strokes. If you don't find the detail for the particular painting you are after, Bridgeman offers a scan on demand service and we can scan in the detail(s) you require at your specifications.

Check out our favorite details in the Bridgeman archive.

In addition to details of iconic paintings and sculptures, collections such as The Design Library and Christie's are good places to look for 19th and 20th century textiles and decorative arts such as Tiffany stained glass.

Modern Art Made Simple

Modern art is always a popular subject, but it can sometimes get difficult to obtain copyright permission for commercial products. Bridgeman represents copyright for 600 contemporary artists which means that you can obtain the artist and usage rights in one transaction.

As an example, if you like Edward Hopper's realism, then take a closer look at David Arsenault. Arsenault's finely rendered light-filled scenes, evoke mid-century America.

If you are looking for something more whimsical, check out Henry John's colorful drawings of food and cooking. Need a new take on a familiar place? Take a look at Bill Jacklin's images of NYC through a dappled light lens.
