Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring advertising Zucchi 'pure cotton on canvas' towel

Zucchi, the Italian homeware giant, through their advertising agency Lorenzo Marini, licensed three high resolution images through Bridgeman Art Library's UK office; Giorgione’s The Sleeping  Venus, Canova’s Pauline Bonaparte and Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring for a major billboard and press campaign throughout Italy.

As you can see, the out of copyright images were manipulated to great effect to humorously communicate the association of Zucchi’s latest homeware range with luxury and originality.
