Over 25 years ago the miners' strike grew into one of the longest and most bitter disputes in British trade union history.

Bridgeman takes a journey back in time to commemorate what used to be one of Britain’s largest industries, depicting the dangers and challenges for coal miners as far back as the 18th century, including many fascinating photographs.

Collections include The National Coal Museum for England and The National Museum Wales.
