Football and Handball games reach back to the first steps of the human race and are the world's most popular sports.

The National Football Museum based at Deepdale Stadium, the home of Preston North End FC and the oldest football league ground in the world, collects, preserves and interprets this unique heritage for the public benefit and can claim to hold the world's finest collection of football artifacts and archives.

The Bridgeman Art Library is thrilled to represent and license the images from this specialist museum.

The FIFA Collection was assembled by Harry Langton, a London journalist with a passion for the game. Principal strengths of the FIFA Collection are:

  • Early History of Football Games from all over the world
  • Early Development of Traditional European Football
  • Birth of the Modern Game in England
  • First League and the Development of the Professional Game
  • History of Football Playing Equipment
  • Art and Football - paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics and ornaments
  • Football and Toys and Games
